With the COVID-19 Omicron variant raging in Greece, the National Public Health Organisation (EODY) confirmed over 35,000 new infections in the last 24 hours, while the positivity rate has soared to 8.38 percent.

The quake, according to the Geodynamic Institute, had a magnitude of 5.7 on the Richter scale and was centered on the sea

Greece confirmed 21,657 new coronavirus infections in the last 24 hours, with 14 of these identified at entry points to the country, the National Public Health Organization (EODY) said on Tuesday.

An earthquake measuring 5.7 on the Richter scale was recorded on Wednesday at 07:08 in the sea region 48 km south-west of Crete, the Geodynamic Institute of the National Observatory of Athens said.
